I like the look of "cubebrush", but as people are saying it is somewhat awkward to say. I'd keep it as cubebrush but pronounce it "cu-brush" and not really worry about the space phonetics-wise. I think people would still understand it
Sorry, but none of there really roll off the tongue. And some of them are visually cluttered (like xx in pixxup, or bebr in cubebrush, or shb in brushboost). Also, the message. Pixxup becomes a pickuper porn site with an extra x in the middle. Cubebrush - is your brush a cube? are you brushing a cube? are you ebrushing a cub? And brushboost sounds like a 80 hair loss product, or a toothpaste additive, as mentioned earlier.
I was going to choose pixxup, but honestly if I saw a website with that name I would think it was somehow pornographic...them X's, they can't be trusted. Cubebrush looks nice and cute and friendly, but I just think of a square shaped brush instead of a website with tutorials and art community. Brushboost doesn't look as cool, but I think it nicely describes the purpose of the website.
I'm surprised cubebrush has the edge when this is written. It looks nice enough but sounds awkward to me. Pixxup rolls of the tongue but the double x looks odd, even slightly pornish. I voted brushboost and in my mind I see a brush enveloped by the level up glow from WoW.
Brushboost would by far be the most effective. Its easy to remember, catchy and is the only one that sort of describes what the website will be doing for you (Boosting your art). So if you're going for commercial effectiveness thats the right choice.
Thanks for the feedback guys! Great stuff. I'm not trying to come up with different names, I own those domains so I was trying to figure out which one to use. Most of the ones said in here were already taken anyways, thats the really hard part about coming up with a name... you find an amazing one and then SHIT: taken.
